#AustrianGP

Austria. Red Bull Ring. Kingdom of Andrea Dovizioso.

During a weekend in which Dovi became the central character since Saturday, announcing that this will be his last year with Ducati, there is no other result possible, if not the first step of the podium. A victory that represents much more than all the victories that Andrea has celebrated here. A revenge for our #Undaunted who shows, one more time, his endless talent. We are immensely proud of being next to a rider who was, is and will be the added value of the SR-GP project, the helmet we have developed together and which brings Suomy to excellence in the sector. This special victory earned Andrea the second place in the overall ranking too. One more step towards a dream that we are growing together.

“It was a very peculiar race given the interruption due to the bad crash of Zarco and Morbidelli. Today my feeling with the bike was not particularly good, but in some areas, I felt strong, and I could make a difference. The weekend started well, but I was not sure if we could win the race: we managed to be immediately competitive, and I found good sensations, but we still lack something compared to the previous years. This track suits the characteristics of our Desmosedici GP bike, but we will still have to work to take another step forward and put ourselves in a position to fight for the victory in all the upcoming races.”

More complicated this first Austrian round for the other #SuomyRiders.

Pecco Bagnaia is still recovering from last week’s injury in Brno and his absence deprives the #SuomyPeople from the possibility of a double important result in MotoGP. We look forward to seeing you soon, Pecco!

Enea Bastianini, who was coming from two consecutive victories, is ready to fight to hit another important result and consolidate his leadership in the Moto2 World Championship standing. Competitive during all the practice sessions and immediately effective in the early first laps of the race, while it is trying to catch the leading positions, he triggers a massive crash that forces him to end the weekend with a heavy zero in the standings. Luckily, Enea is doing well and is aiming for an immediate redemption, already in the next #StyrianGP which will take place in seven days time.

ENEA BASTIANINI
“I tried to keep the pace of the leaders, but I crashed trying to catch them. I hope Syahrin is all right and I hope he’s not hurt. It’s a shame because we were competitive and we could have had a good race today. We will try again next week”.

Nicolò Bulega and Stefano Manzi, after a tricky race weekend that saw them crossing the finish line one step away from the points, respectively in sixteenth and seventeenth position, are ready to fight to achieve a better result in the upcoming races.

NICOLO’ BULEGA
“We tried, but this wasn’t our day. We surely miss a big of luck if I think of the Q2 missed due to the cancelled lap, but our race goals must be higher. Today we struggled and the race interruption didn’t help. We need to keep our heads down and be competitive here next weekend.”

STEFANO MANZI
“There’s no much to say today. It’s been a very bad race for us. During the first start I was already down to 22nd, I lost three positions. I don’t know what to say: during the first laps I lost too much, I had difficulties running with the other because they easily passed me in the straight and then, even if I went faster, they’re already far and I didn’t pick up the pace. Even in the second start, many rider passed me and I lost much time trying to get them and the race was too short”.

In Moto3 Romano Fenati, who started from the penultimate position on the grid, is capable of a good comeback up to the eighteenth position.

ROMANO FENATI
“I am not really happy for the position reached in the race, but I like the improvement that we succeeded to have with the bike. We had a pace that is comparable with the one of the leaders and this demonstrates that we are on the right path. We need to improve the qualifying performance, in order to start off more ahead on the grid and thus we can manage better the race. We are working to start in the best possible way the next weekend”.
