The third round of the 2023 MotoGP season does not end as our Suomy rider Pecco Bagnaia would have hoped.

Author of an amazing pole position in Saturday’s qualifying and an equally exceptional start in Sunday’s race, from the first lap Pecco becomes the protagonist of the Austin circuit, conquering the lead of the race together with his only follower Alex Rins.

Unfortunately, due to a crash on the eighth lap, our Suomy rider was forced to retire and give up the points zone for the second consecutive race.

An unlucky weekend, but one which nonetheless reserves satisfaction for Pecco, who proves to be the absolute ruler of the sprint race on Saturday and also sets the fastest lap.

After the weekend in Texas, Pecco is in second position in the general standings, just eleven points behind the leader Marco Bezzecchi.

“For the second weekend in a row, I crashed: I can’t give myself an explanation, making it even harder to accept. I made a mistake, but at the moment, I don’t understand what it was. It was a very strange fall, and now I will ask my team to analyze the data well to understand what happened. I know the Championship is still very long, but we have thrown away 45 points in the last two GPs, and it is definitely not the best.”

Excluded from the points zone for just one position, Romano Fenati crosses the finish line sixteenth in the Austin GP. After starting in thirteenth position, unfortunately our Suomy rider is forced to face two long lap penalties due to an early start.
