#JapaneseGP: Pecco dominates again
PECCO BAGNAIA DOMINATES AGAIN: DOUBLE DELIGHT.
A masterpiece deserves a frame that enhances its value, and last weekend in Japan our Pecco Bagnaia signed off his work of art with victory in the Sprint, framing it with a triumph in the more demanding and “important” Sunday race.
In a weekend that will remain etched in the memory of fans, the team, and enthusiasts, Pecco proved to himself that he is still a great champion, second to none, and to everyone that his hunger for victories and success is far from gone. This performance represents, without a doubt, a powerful sporting rebirth. The Sprint win was proof of that, but sealing the double with victory in the main race on Sunday confirms this resurgence and silences any possible critics.
Starting Saturday with pole position, the rider from Turin immediately showed that this was to be his weekend and that he would not surrender this satisfaction to anyone. In the main race, Bagnaia led authoritatively from start to finish, controlling the pace and perfectly managing the race variables to cross the line in first place.
After the race, Bagnaia spoke with sincere emotion about the weekend. His thoughts, following the victories, went not only to his own effort but also to the team that supported him and allowed him to finally find himself again and rediscover the right feeling with his Ducati GP25 a feeling that seemed long lost.
The final outcome of this seventeenth race weekend is exceptional for Suomy in terms of intensity, and for its rider it is undoubtedly spectacular in both management and technique.
The Ducati team and management also shared their enthusiasm. Team manager Davide Tardozzi described the day as “perfect” for the squad, emphasizing how seeing Bagnaia back on top was deeply rewarding. Ducati Corse General Manager Gigi Dall’Igna called it a “fantastic double,” expressing satisfaction at having finally found the technical balance that had been missing.
MOTO 2
Our rider Ivàn Ortolà, who managed only the thirteenth time in qualifying, climbed up during the race to finish in eighth place and score points. Our Suomy rider may have rediscovered the right feeling with his bike, and we wish him continued improvement to aim for the podium in the final five races of the season.
“Winning is always important, but to do so in the Sprint, where I’ve always struggled this year, is truly something special. We never gave up and this is the result. I’m really happy and now we look forward to what’s ahead of us while continuing to do our best; I really hope we’ve found the key to turn things around. Let’s see how tomorrow goes, but we know we have the potential on our side. We need to get a good start, manage the situation, and try to stay in the battle for the win. Our goal is still the top five.”
Francesco Bagnaia (#63 Ducati Lenovo Team) – Sprint Race 1°
“This has been the first weekend in which I felt myself again out on track, and we really put together and excellent performance. After what has been a challenging season so far, it was hard to imagine that we would have squared the circle, but better late than never! I went back to enjoying riding the bike since the Misano test and I had fun today. This is wonderful, but also a pity that it happened only now, but we can only look forward and try to continue this way until the end of the season. I never stopped believing in myself and the team. I’m very proud of it, especially on a day like today. Obviously I’d like to congratulate Marc for his incredible season and I hope we’ll able to give all Ducatisti some more excitement in this last leg of the season.”
